If you are (or become one -- recommended), you may wish to join the IIE Institute of Industrial Engineers group. IIE conference in Miami
I'm an industrial engineering student at Cal Poly. I really wanted to go to the conference in Miami, it sounds very exciting. but I am really upset that I didn't have the money to go.

IIE Conference
I do expect it to be exciting. I am a judge in the student paper competition and in the student simulation competition (Sunday). I am also co-chair of the Simulation Track. If you cannot make it, at least get a copy of the conference CD! Next year the conference will be in Cancún, México. Very best wishes.
