Resources in WITNESS

What are some of the general purposes of using Resources in WITNESS?

Resources are often used to operate machines (e.g. a manual or semi-automatic machine, versus a fully automatic one) or to repair machines. Even if a machine does not need a resource to cycle, it can be specified as needing a resource to repair it when it breaks down. Resources are called "Labor" in WITNESS.

I have always considered a machine to be a resource as well. How do you account for machines in Witness?

A machine in the general sense is also a "Machine" in WITNESS. A WITNESS Machine could represent a lathe in a factory, a packaging machine in a warehouse, an ATM in a bank, a check-in kiosk in an airport, or the scales at a highway truck weighing station. A WITNESS Machine is typically immobile (whereas a Resource is moveable) and dedicated to its one task.
