Hello everyone!
I wanted to plot some time persistent data with the output Analyser but I only get ugly `stepped` plot. I saw on the arena help that for time persistent data, it was normal. What I am trying to do is to plot an expression (which corresponds to the inaccuracy in a room), but since this data was time persistent I could not use the Moving Average tool in the output analyzer... : error : you need to batch/truncate...?? My questions are: 1) how to get the same plots that I get when I run my regular simulation? (IE not stepped plots) 2) How can I use the Moving Average tool (IE: why and how batch/truncate?) 3) is it possible to set the incrementation of the X axis when using the plot tool? Thank you for your help. |

I have just been exploring these questions on behalf of your post. For (3), I have tried but not succeeded in changing the X-axis (time) scale, even after consulting with section 6.4 of the 5th edition of Simulation with Arena (Kelton, Sadowski, and Swets), which describes basic use of the Output Analyzer. I suggest writing the value to be plotted to an Excel spreadsheet at the time intervals at which you will want to plot them. Then Excel's significantly greater charting capabilities (which certainly include axis scaling) can be used to your advantage.
