Here is the quick answer. Kaizen means continuous improvement: a philosophy widely practiced in manufacturing and quality circles. It is the philosophy of achieving major enhancements in a process through incremental improvements. As the name implies, it relies on the idea that there is no end to making a process better.

Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning “change for the better”. It is used to describe faced paced, repetitive, continuous improvement activities aimed at improving over time.

A kaizen workshop is typically 3-4 day event where the stakeholders of a process are brought together to quickly brainstorm and improve the process. The workplace (be it in an office, or on a plant floor) is transformed during the workshop.
